Please briefly tell us why you are applying to be part of the Certified Naturally Grown program:	We are a small Family farm, 5 acres and grow Cherries (Bings and Rainiers) we tried to become certified organic but we were financially not able. We have farmed our Cherries now organic for 3 years, 2009 being our 4th year. I have read your entire website and we are excited to apply and become part of your Certified Naturally Grown program.

General Farm Information

Farmland Management and Practices

Primary Tillage System:	No tillage applied, only mowing the grass in between the trees. For the vegetable garden we till by hand
Do you use Cover Crops?	yes

We have no weed problems we just mow & mulch the grass between the trees
Describe your primary insect problems and methods of control. Fruit flies: We have used GF-120-NF Naturalyte an organic Fruit Fly Bait. Active ingredients: Spinosad( a mixture of Spinosyn A and spinosyn D: 0.02% Inert ingredients: Include water, sugars, and plant protiens and extracts 99.98%. Application is performed with a backpack sprayer applying a solid stream of spray per tree every 7 - 10 days or after it rains
Describe your primary disease problems and methods of control. If you indicate a name brand product, please also specify the ingredient/s, what kind of product it is (a soap, microbial, oil, a botanical...), and how often it's used.	Our primary disease problem is "Powdery Mildew" which only occurs in dense 1 year old suckers. We have successful with removing/pruning these suckers and creating a more open canopy so that the air can freely move between the branches

Chemical/Spray Drift and Buffers:
Is there any likelihood of Chemical/Spray drift contamination of your fields?	no
Do you have an adequate buffer to protect yourself from potential contamination?	yes
Please describe your buffer. Be as specific as possible. On all sides, how far is it from your crops to the next closest use (road, conventional crop, residential yard)? Be sure to specify what is grown on neighboring land that is in agricultural use. For example: To the north and east, a wooded area of at least 100 yards separates us from the neighbor's corn fields, to the south is a fallow field at least 100 yards deep separating us from the road, and to the west about 60 feet separates our crops from a field where conventional corn and soybeans are grown.	Their is no other agricultural land next to us. North of us is a highway.South of us is a access driveway with neighbors yards with no garden activity. or a 100 yard buffer of the irrigation canal. West of us is a small 0.5 Acres Cherry orchard that I maintain as well but it doesn't produced any conciderable crop yet.

You may use this space to tell us anything else you think we should know about your farm:	We also planted 224 Viognier Vines next to our House that are now in its 2nd leaf. These grapes will also be organically grown My regular job is being a Chef/Winemaker and these vines will produce 1660 bottles of Viognier in 2011. Once being certified can I use your CNG logo on my label?
