My farm is nestled in the beautiful Appalachian Mountains of southeast Kentucky. I live on a forested mountain with a pond, hiking opportunities, and fantastic views of the surrounding mountains. I have approximately 1 acre where I grow a wide variety of Certified Naturally Grown vegetables.I also maintain an herb garden and take advantage of many wild edible plants or fruits growing on the mountain. I'm in the process of grafting old, heritage varieties of apples and pears and hope to be planting blueberry bushes and asparagus this spring. In addition, I raise my own chickens for eggs and meat. I have recently added geese to the farm with 2 goats coming soon. I also have 3 cats and 2 very friendly dogs. In 2010 I became Certified Naturally Grown. I am totally committed to running my farm using organic, sustainable methods as well as incorporating biodynamic and permaculture methods. I sell produce at a farmers market in Knoxville, Tennessee every Saturday, May-November. I also run a small CSA(Community Supported Agriculture) with both local and Tennessee-based members. I welcome enthusiastic, season-long or short-term helpers and can exchange room, board/meals, knowledge and hands-on experience for hard, honest, fun-filled work.
