Earthkeeper Farm
Kent City, Michigan
At Earthkeeper Farm, we grow sustainably without the use of chemicals or toxins. We strive to create a balanced farm system, which naturally keeps disease and pests under control. Biodiversity, environmental protection, building healthy soil, and commitment to a local food system are a few key elements of the farm. We grow about 4 acres of naturally grown vegetables, fruits, and flowers, with other acreage in cover crop and pasture. The majority of our harvest is vegetables, of which we grow a wide variety. Including over 50 different crops with over 150 different varieties. You can find us at the Rockford and Ada Farmer's Market, as well as become a share holder in the farm through the CSA (Community Supported Agriculture). Harvesting begins around the first week of June, and runs through the end of October. So, our CSA members can look forward to approximately 20 to 23 weeks of produce. Knowing our customers personally is one aspect of the farm that we really enjoy! Answering questions, exchanging recipes, and talking about food and the food system are some our favorite parts of market and distribution. We are a WWOOF host farm, and welcome volunteers and visitors. Please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have!(This listing was last updated on February 25, 2010)
