Swauk Prairie Produce is a small farm with emphasis on quality produce for the local markets. Our growing season is somewhat limited by weather conditions, late arrival of spring and the ever present winds. Having worked around these conditions with different crop protections we are able to produce a variety of produce. We grow lettuce, carrots, beans, peas, kale, dill, onions, garlic, shallots, radishes, and a variety of mustard greens that are sold at local Farmers' Markets. Our biggest market pleaser is our 3 verities of gourmet pickles that incorporate our own garlic and dill. The cukes come from another Washington producer, since we are unable to produce 1200 lbs ready in a day. These gourmet pickles are entirely Washington grown. As a Certified Naturally Grown grower, we use the same standards as the National Organic Program (NOP) because it is important to us to provide our customers healthy eating choices. It's a great way of assuring our quality without the cost and hassle of being "Government Certified." Our primary garden nutrient is "Star Power" from my horse Star and his pasture pal Adonis. We do not use artificially created chemicals or pesticides on our soil or on the growing plants.
