The Jackson Inner-city Gardeners (JIG) promotes civic engagement, family strengthening and individual growth through organic gardening, gathering, character-building and education. JIG’s success is dependent on the involvement of youth and senior residents, churches, schools, organizations and businesses in the community giving their time, effort, resources and ideas to cultivating the vision of promoting healthy lifestyles, families and communities. We are an non-profit group who grow organic produce (vegetables and fruits)in Jackson, Ms. The produce from the garden are accessible to communities of Jackson Ms, through the local farmers market and by becoming a member of a newly formed CSA.
