Alconbury Meadows
Rockford, Illinois
Alconbury Meadows is a teaching farm that emphasizes sustainable agricultural and gardening practices. Our success and comments on our produce over the years proves that these organic disciplines work. This in turn produces an environment that brings health to the human body along with life giving benefits of the soil giving us wonderful produce and nutrient dense foods. This small farm is a testament that when we work with the soil and its life giving properties that there is no need to use synthetic chemicals to "stimulate" growth and produce large yields. Balanced healthy soils produce healthy plants that are more resistant to disease and insect pressures which in turn attract natures pollinators to produce heavy yields.
