Deerfoot Farm

Deerfoot Farm is located in the beautiful north Okanagan Valley of British Columbia. The farm produces irrigated crops of spring greens, green peas, fresh beans, carrots, eggplant, beets, onions. All the potato varieties are grown in dryland conditions because this produces the best quality, both in mineral value and flavour. During the 2012 season, Warba, Red Norland, Sieglinde, Linzer Delicatesse, Kennebec, Roco, Desiree, Red Gold, Agria potato varieties were grown. Farm owners, David Doran and Shelley Baumbrough, use 8 acres of the 55 acre farm for the vegetables. Root crops are started early in the season in hoop houses for the early spring markets. Produce is sold at local farmers' markets year round, as well as farm gate. Local restaurants are supplied with varieties of potatoes that suit their needs. All crops are annually assessed for climate and soil adaptability and for customer demand.
