Lynx Trail Farm
Coeur d Alene, Idaho
About Us; Lynx Trail Farm is a micro farm and blacksmithing business in Coeur dâAlene, Idaho. We raise naturally grown fruits, vegetables and cut flowers on a 1.5 acre section of our property. We also forge unique metal furniture and fixtures in our shop at the farm. Our produce is grown without the use of any synthetic or artificial fertilizers, pesticides or herbicides. All of the vegetables are started from seed on the farm, either in the field or in our greenhouse. The land is fertilized primarily with aged compost, local horse manure from neighboring farms and cover crops. Crop rotation allows sections to be taken out of production to build soil fertility. Cover cropping and natural soil building is the reason we grow the highest quality natural produce. It also provides very low incidences of pests and diseases. We believe that soil health is the basis for sound farming. We have chosen not to pursue organic certification by the USDA, and instead are certified as âNaturally Grownâ. We farm naturally, using deep organic methods, believing itâs in the best long term health interests of our customers, ourselves and mother earth. We forge iron furniture, fixtures, garden art and knick knacks when we arenât farming, which in north Idaho is about half the year. We love making our products using metal, made mostly from scrape and reclaimed or scrap wood and stone when possible.(This listing was last updated on April 19, 2013)
