CNG requires that producers use organically grown seeds whenever available. (This applies to all seeds used in the CNG operation including cover crop and pasture seed). The standards grant exceptions for conventionally grown seeds to be used in some cases when a particular variety isn’t available in an organically grown form. We ask that growers make a good faith effort to locate organically grown seeds by contacting at least 3 major suppliers of organic seeds. Please visit the Seeds & Seedlings page for more information.
