How much does it cost to be a Certified Naturally Grown farmer or beekeeper?

We recommend $300 or more per year, but members have the option to pay less. We offer monthly payment plans to make it easier to pay over time in smaller amounts. Farmers may tap the Grassroots Fund for dues assistance if they’re facing unusual hardship or just getting started. Farmers of color may tap the Equity Fund for dues assistance.

We recommend $250 or more per year for beekeepers who can afford it, but there is no minimum dues requirement for apiary certification, since natural beekeepers help protect honey bees who in turn provide important ecosystem services. We also recognize many beekeepers are hobbyists, deriving only modest income from their apiary. However, CNG beekeepers must pay some amount annually to help keep CNG going strong. We want beekeepers to be able to participate and highlight their commitment to natural practices so more people understand and appreciate why they should be choosy about where they get their honey – and all their food!
