AOVS Urban Farm at Ball Rd. is one of two CNG certified farms under the AOVS farm program. This urban farm was started in 2018 and has grown each year in size and in maturity as our ecosystem above and below ground has diversified. We are predominately a low-till farm, using a permanent bed system that is maintained with the help of our BCS walk-behind tractor. Our farm site is located on property used to provide housing to veterans who have experienced homelessness, and they are our first priority when it comes to production. AOVS residents receive weekly produce distributions, bi-weekly meals featuring produce from the farm, and holiday/seasonal celebrations with farm produce. We also sell to the broader Memphis community at our local farmers market, and we support a growing restaurant industry that seeks to buy from local producers.
