Often the trickiest part of any recordkeeping system isn’t the taking of the records, but knowing what to do with them. In this unique course, we’ll help you take your records and turn them into action. Should you invest in that new tractor or a second employee? How long will that fancy new prophouse take to pay for itself? Bring your questions and we’ll have fun with data!
This class will be recorded. All registrants will receive a copy of the recording within 48 hours of the live event.

Meet The Instructor
Janet Aardema
Broadfork Farm, Virginia
Janet describes farming success as 50% soil and 50% systems. Appropriately managing both allows one to meet their farming goals! As co-owner of Broadfork Farm with her husband and business partner Dan Gagnon, Janet thoroughly enjoys helping others learn practical farming information with her pragmatic approach grounded in realism. Drawing on her experience growing vegetables for market customers since 2011, Janet teaches learners to adopt systems-based-thinking in order to apply knowledge to the unknown future events inherent in farming. To farm smart and make a farm business support a household and livelihood, one needs to use data-capture systems to inform decision making. Janet is known for being ruthless with these systems and making the decisions indicated by the data – while keeping soil health, regenerative methods, and family-centric values at the heart of a farm.
At Broadfork Farm, Janet and Dan grow intensively on just two acres while harvesting and packing for 200 Farm Shares each week plus a robust farmers’ market stand, an on-site FarmStand, and two local grocery stores.
